The Spurs will get their first shot this season at the Warriors, preferably this time with a wholesome Kawhi Leonard, at 7 p.m. in a nationally televised game at the AT&T Center sure to garner gaudy ratings for TNT.

The Warriors swept the Spurs in the West finals last season after Leonard suffered a postseason-ending ankle injury on a questionable close-out by the Warriors'Zaza Pachulia.

The road wasn't kind to the Leonard-less, Parker-less Spurs. Three straight losses followed an initial blowout on the Heat, sullying the team's perfect start at 4-3. Before facing the champion Golden State Warriors on Thursday, the Spurs have a much-needed two-day break. Obviously, San Antonio needs Kawhi, but his return remains uncertain. Can the Spurs as presently configured beat the visiting Warriors? What improvements must the team make for that to happen?
